FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 30, 2006) – A formal administrative hearing has been set for Thursday, April 13, to discuss the proposed purchase of CHA Health, of Lexington, by Humana Health Plan Inc., of Louisville.

The hearing, which is open to the public, will begin at 9 a.m. EDT in the hearing room at the Kentucky Office of Insurance (KOI), 215 W. Main St., Frankfort. Visitors will need to sign in at the front desk.

According to Executive Director Glenn Jennings, KOI staff will complete an extensive review and analysis of the transaction prior to the hearing. Issues addressed at the hearing will include the nature of the transaction, qualifications of management and the impact such an acquisition would have on the health insurance market, Jennings said.
