No lost-time accident since plant opened

HODGENVILLE, Ky. (July 3, 2006) – CMH Hodgenville Inc., whose employees have worked more than six years without a “lost-time” injury at the company’s plant in Hodgenville, was presented a 2006 Governor’s Safety and Health Award June 29.

The award is given to employers and employees who together have achieved a specified streak of hours worked without a lost-time episode or who have gone one year without a recordable injury or illness.

CMH Hodgenville opened Feb. 4, 2000, and has not experienced a lost-time injury since modular homes have been produced at the facility. The company, which employs 170 workers, has logged more than 1,650,000 work hours without a lost-time accident.

David Stumbo, health standards specialist from the Office of Occupational Safety and Health, an agency of the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet, presented the award.

“One of the fundamental goals of our cabinet is to improve workplace safety, in keeping with Governor Ernie Fletcher’s belief that a healthy work force is indispensable to a healthy economy,” Stumbo said. “We are pleased that CMH Hodgenville shares that vision.”
