About the Agency

A breakdown of the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet.

About the Agency

The Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet (EPPC) was created when the former Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet, the Kentucky Labor Cabinet and the Public Protection and Regulation Cabinet were combined. The EPPC is divided into four departments: the Department for Environmental Protection, the Department for Natural Resources, the Department of Labor and the Department of Public Protection.

The secretary of the cabinet is Teresa J. Hill.

There are nearly 3,000 employees within the EPPC. Some work in Frankfort, while others work in field offices geographically situated throughout the commonwealth. For more information on the work of the EPPC, see EPPC agencies or read Land, Air & Water, the cabinet's quarterly magazine.
